Musings of a (D.C.) Sports Nut

If I want to talk about sports in general, here's the place!!

Redskins Team Grades: Washington Suffers Miserable Road-Game Loss To Cardinals — CBS DC

By Kevin Ross II The Redskins faced a difficult opponent on the road in Arizona. To make it plain, they failed miserably. In a game that had huge playoff implications, Washington allowed a hungry Cardinals team to take the game 31-23. This is how the Redskins grade out. Offense Grade: C+ The Redskins’ offense was…

Wizards Take 1-0 Lead With 102-96 Win at Indiana

Does this work, or what? I never thought I’d see the day when the Wizards would excite me MORE than the Caps. Wow.

CBS DC

INDIANAPOLIS — Bradley Beal scored 14 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter and Trevor Ariza added 22 on Monday night, leading Washington past top-seeded Indiana 102-96 in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Wizards won a second-round game for the first time since 1982 and are 4-0 on the road in this year’s playoffs. They ended a 12-game losing streak at Indiana that dated to April 18, 2007, and they did it by nearly leading from wire-to-wire.

Paul George and George Hill had 18 points each for Indiana.

The Wizards trailed only once, 31-30, and took control with a 17-6 run to close the first half that made it 56-43. Indiana couldn’t get closer than five points in the second half.

Game 2 is Wednesday night at Indiana.

The Pacers have lost both of their playoff series’ openers and will face another uphill battle — just…

Donald Sterling, Adam Silver, and us all.

Thought I’d go ahead & share this. Haven’t read it; let me know how this turns out…lol

godinspiredlove

So I wanted to break my hiatus to share my thoughts on the whole Donald Sterling fiasco. There are five main points that I want to touch upon:

1)      I agree with Silver’s actions. The NBA is sending a message, and it was important that it was severe.

2)      I would be surprised if Sterling was the only racist in the league.

3)      As this is the cause of the moment, it has become politically correct to ostracize Donald Sterling. If someone is asked their opinion on this situation, a lot of people will probably condemn his actions just so they don’t appear racist. Anyone who publicly supports Donald Sterling might appear racist, and no one wants to appear racist, even if they are. Even Donald Sterling, when speaking to his girlfriend said it’s ok to love African Americans you just have to do so privately. So for him, it’s…

When’s the last time you saw the Wizards finish above .500…and Michael Jordan wasn’t wearing a Wizards uniform?

image

Yeah, I know. Blows one’s mind, don’t it? But they’re in the playoffs. Finally, Ted Leonsis made good on his promise to fix the basketball side of his empire.

image

Build a supporting cast around John Wall, and good things will happen. How deep the Wizards go, is anybody’s guess.
But it’ll be fun to watch…unlike the Caps.

Kinda sums up our feelings towards this season, don’t it? LMAO
(I actually have a Caps-oriented blog on Blogger, but I’ll continue on with this…lol)
Anyway, this has been a disappointment for us Caps fans. My take on this, is George McPhee needs to be fired as GM. Keep Adam Oates, but McPhee goes. Plain and simple.

Also, find the dead weight on this team and cut it. See who’s down at Hershey, who’s NHL-ready, and give them a chance to make an impact on the team.

Guess that’s it. Hope you enjoy reading this…lol
